Health Systems Analysis for Médecins du Monde France: SRHR and Cervical Cancer in Punjab and KP
Health systems analysis for MdM-F on placing community-based SRHR and cervical cancer services within the public-private system in Punjab and KP.
SPHERE is carrying out a health systems analysis for Médecins du Monde France (MdM-F). It looks at how a community-based project on sexual and reproductive health and rights (family planning and post-abortion care) and cervical cancer prevention and care can fit within Pakistan’s mixed public-private health system, in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The analysis uses the WHO health system building blocks and checks them against the WHO cervical cancer elimination targets (90-70-90). Methods are a desk review, about 25 to 30 key informant interviews, and 8 focus group discussions, followed by triangulation.
The desk review produces maps of governance, financing, service delivery pathways, and stakeholders. These feed into the interview and focus group tools and help identify who the project needs to work with. Fieldwork covers both provinces and includes federal, provincial, and community-level voices, so findings can be read for Punjab and KP separately.
