Endline Survey for Strengthening Maternal and Newborn Health Care Project in Punjab (Multan, Khanewal, Vehari)

Endline Survey for JICA's Maternal and Child Health (MCH)

SPHERE Consulting conducted the endline evaluation of the JICA-supported Strengthening Maternal and Newborn Healthcare Project implemented in Multan, Khanewal, and Vehari. The evaluation assessed the project's effectiveness in improving maternal and newborn healthcare services at the primary healthcare level through a mixed-methods approach. The assignment included designing survey instruments, conducting household surveys among pregnant women and mothers of children under two years, facilitating focus group discussions with community beneficiaries, and carrying out key informant interviews with healthcare providers, trainers, and program managers. In addition, health facility assessments were conducted to evaluate infrastructure, equipment, service readiness, and the capacity of healthcare providers. The evaluation generated evidence on project outcomes, implementation challenges, and lessons learned to inform future maternal and newborn health programming.
